The Division of General Pediatrics at Stanford University, School of Medicine, is seeking two leading scholars for positions as adjunct, Associate, or full Professor in the University Tenure Line or University Medical Line. This individual will be expected to build upon existing research interests and skills to advance new expertise in child health. We are pursuing individuals with demonstrated or potential leadership abilities, practice, and success in systems-level community-located and/or policy-significant research. prosperous candidates must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Outstanding candidates may pursue scholarship in any area; however, priority will be given to candidates whose scholarship addresses child health disparities.
   » The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.
   » The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and practice of the prosperous candidate.
The selected candidate will join an energetic team of academic and community faculty with nationally recognized leadership abilities in child health research, clinical care, community engagement, and teaching. For those with clinical tasks within the Division, this may include supervision of medical students and residents in continuity and acute care clinics of the Gardner Packard Children's Health Center, a FQHC community clinic, and/or primary clinical care in the Complex Primary Care clinic. Additional opportunities for professional development and leadership abilities are available. The Division of General Pediatrics serves a diverse and underserved population with disproportionately high levels of medical and social complexity.
The candidates should have a strong emerging record of academic excellence in Pediatrics. Preference will be given for candidates with completion or anticipated completion of a General Pediatrics Academic Fellowship or similar. practice and/or research serving low-salary, immigrant populations is preferred.
