Quality Program Coordinator - Children's Hospital - 2000454

Position Summary
The Children's HospitalQuality Program Coordinator will support the many specific operations, both local and national, geared towards improving the quality of care for pediatric patients. Coordination includes activities for national memberships such as Children's Hospital Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS), Child Health Patient Safety Organization (CHPSO), Children's Hospital Association (CHA) collaboratives, as well as a leadership abilities function within Stony Brook Medicine/Stony Brook Children's Hospital Quality Initiatives. This position is critical to the success of the ultimate aim of zero harm and value creation for Stony Brook Children's Hospital.

tasks of theChildren's Hospital Quality Program Coordinatormay include but are not limited to the following:
   » Provide coordination of quality initiatives across Stony Brook Children's Hospital as they related to national or regional collaborations as well as institution-specific initiatives.
   » Develop data collection processes and provide data analysis for various quality initiatives all over their growth and development.
   » Attend Stony Brook Children's quality meetings, record meeting minutes, identify areas for follow-up and provide longitudinal support for directives resulting from those meetings.
   » Work in partnership with the Vice Chair for Pediatric Quality and Clinical Nurse Specialists to operationalize key quality projects.
   » Identify and grow opportunities for value frameworks including but limited to: the impact on supply chain and purchasing, unit-specific quality and results, policy and procedure development, opportunities for improved care coordination both internally and with our community partners, monitoring relationships between cost and quality, and potential impact on patient practice and perception/realization of high quality care.
   » Collaborate with Stony Brook Medicine Quality Departments to support projects and ensure high quality project execution.
   » Identify and develop presentation submissions to national, regional and local quality conferences/seminars to highlight SBCH's quality successes and innovations.
   » Represent Stony Brook Children's Hospital at institutional quality meetings, and/or at national/regional/local conferences or seminars as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor's Degree
   » At least 3 years of administrative health care practice
   » Proven proficiency in data management and analysis, and program coordination
   » Must have excellent communication expertise and a professional demeanor
   » Advanced expertise of Microsoft Office Suite, data management and presentation software
   » Competency in data analysis and data collection techniques
   » Must be able to work both independently with little direction and have a proven track record working in teams

Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
   » Master's Degree in significant subject area
   » 1 or more years' practice with hospital-located quality programs and/or proven involvement in quality projects
Special Notes: This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all candidates will occur two weeks from the posting date.
