An independent, coeducational school for students in kindergarten through grade 12, Woodlynde is in suburban Philadelphia. Founded in 1976, the school is nationally recognized for its skills in serving students with language- or math-located learning differences, executive function challenges, ADHD, auditory processing disorder, or a need for a small classroom environment.
Position Summary:
The Upper School Spanish teacher will be responsible for providing a student-centered, supportive approach in Spanish instruction for students in grades 9-12.
Key Responsibilities Include:
   » Provides direct instruction to students in Spanish. Core classes include Spanish 1-5.
   » Plans and executes everyday lessons for Spanish language students in grades 9-12.
   » Develops an continuing working expertise of each individual student's educational and emotional needs.
   » Effectively collaborates with learning specialists to integrate recommended teaching strategies into content area classes.
   » Communicates with parents to address learning concerns of students.
   » Provides individual student assessment as needed.
   » Shows evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students.
   » Maintains complete and accurate records that are reflective of a student's performance and growth in expertise.
   » Develops and maintains genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents.
   » Contributes to and benefits from the campus community.
   » Practices professionalism through continuing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.
   » Participates in curriculum writing and other developmental programs and activities.
   » Remains current in expertise of the latest language teaching trends.
   » Other tasks as assigned.

Appropriate qualifications:
   » A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required for consideration.
   » A 9-12 Spanish Teaching Certification
   » A plus:
   » Special Education Teaching Certification and/or Reading Specialist Certification.
   » practice with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring practice.
   » Responsive Classroom practice
   » The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
