STATUS: PART-TIME

Lake Erie College, located in Painesville, OH, invites applications for the position of graduate adjunct, School of Education & Professional Studies. This position is shared between the main education office and the professional development office. This is a twelve-month, two-year appointment, pending prosperous evaluation at the end of year one.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION Job responsibilities:
¬
   » Processes campus manager monthly mileage reimbursement forms.
   » Compiles and submits bursar report for student teaching and field fees (every semester).
   » Collects syllabi and office hours from education faculty and places in digital files for each semester.
   » Sends BI/BCI reports to districts, as requested.
   » Prepares check requests for school districts and letters that accompany checks.
   » Updates spreadsheet, EX and student clinical files on the shared drive with all FBI/BCI reports.
   » Maintains physical and digital student files (graduate and undergraduate) for the education department. Creates files for new students at the beginning of each semester.
   » Helps prepare Teacher Education Handbook (every fall).
   » Completes updates provided by field director.
   » Runs copies for EDC 201 Foundations class, transfers and several extras.
   » Helps prepare Field practice and Student Teaching Handbooks (every semester).
   » Secures changes from field director and faculty.
   » Runs copies of handbooks for students, cooperating teachers, campus managers and faculty.
   » Submits new handbooks to the web master for posting on the education department web page.
   » Participates in field and student teaching orientations (every semester).
   » Prepares packets for campus managers and cooperating teachers to include: appropriate handbook; agenda; checklist; Taskstream instructions.
   » Double-checks with director of alumni relations regarding ambassadors for special events.
   » Supervises the education office student worker. Coordinates schedules to provide the greatest possible coverage in the office.
   » Other tasks as assigned by the dean of the School of Education & Professional Studies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Job responsibilities:
¬
   » Processes all registrations (phone and electronic) for PreK-12 educators enrolled in coursework to maintain their teaching license, utilizing department software (Cvent); maintains shared inbox; and manually registers all PD students in Jenzabar EX.
   » Provides physical presence, logistics set-up and problem-solving support Friday evenings when on-campus courses run all over the academic year (approximately 20 weekends per year) and, in the summer, in the event of the director's absence.
   » Compiles weekly bursar report on Fridays and submits report on Mondays.
   » Other tasks as assigned by the dean of the School of Education & Professional Studies.

PREFERRED Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Lake Erie College graduate program required.
   » Must be able to work 20 hours per week, 12 months of the year.
   » Preference will be given to candidates who are expertiseable about the Professional Educators, ODE, etc.
   » Excellent communication expertise, both written and oral.
   » Excellent computer expertise and availability to lgain Jenzabar EX.
   » Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
   » Strong organization expertise with capability to attend to details.
   » capability to work independently on assigned projects and initiatives.
